Mrs. Muhtaris' Fifth Grade Class

Dear 5^th Grade Families,

 

In the fall students will be decorating two notebooks the first week of school.  They will need copies of their family pictures and special events for the outside of their writer’s notebook. They will also need a variety of items for their Inquiry Notebooks.  We suggest students collect items from their summer in a clear Ziploc bag with their name on it to bring the first week of school.  These might include;

 

·     magazine or newspaper clippings that they find interesting

·     photographs of places, people, or things that they are interested in or wonder about.

·     items such as ticket stubs, brochures, playbills, and found objects.

 

This supply list is for all 5th grade students

Individual Supplies: label with student’s name

·      1” binder black or white with a clear view cover

·      1 set of binder dividers

·      1 wire-bound three subject notebook

·      2 hardcover college rule composition books-we will decorate them the first week of school

·      5 single subject notebooks (80 pages, no wireless)

·      10 solid colored (no designs) folders with pockets AND fasteners. (Purple, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow)

·      2 boxes of colored pencils min. 24 colors (one is for art room)

·      2 boxes of thin classic colored markers (one is for art room)

·      1 package of highlighters

·      1 soft pencil case

·      1 pencil sharpener

·      scientific calculator

·      1 12-inch rule with inches and centimeters

·      protractor & compass

·      Pocket dictionary and thesaurus

·      Ruler (centimeters and inches)

·      2 pairs of scissors

·      High quality re-useable water bottle

 

Community Supplies: do not label with student’s name

·      One package of black ink pens

·      5 glue sticks

·      3 large packages of Number 2 pencils (no mechanical pencils)

·      2 rolls of paper towels &1 box of tissues (boys)

·      1 bottle of hand soap & 1 bottle of hand sanitizer (girls)

·      2 multi packages 3” by 3” post-its

·      1 package 4” by 4” Lined post-its

·      1 package flags – multicolored

·      1 package Pencil top erasers

·      4 fine point “skinny” black sharpie markers

·      2 regular sharpies

·      1 box scotch tape

·      1 ream white printer paper
